I am looking for a probe to do digitizing and also edge and center finding etc. Which of these is better or more accurate?

Or should I be looking for something better? If so what would it be?

Check out Zarzuls probe, you will find the thread in the bargain basement section of the forum.

I beleive his probe is the first one I linked to at Wildhorse? I read all those posts, but I still don't know which of the two is better. One is nearly 3 times as expensive, but is it better (more accurate or better repeatability)?
Also are these probes even any good for edge finding, or are they not accurate enough?

I made my own probe and its very accurate, it is along the same lines as the ones you linked to, ie the 3 rod and ball type. I dont use it for probing and it was never my intention to use it for that, it was made for edge finding and is extremely repeatable, I have it true to less than 0.005mm and it will repeat at less than I can measure. So from that I would say there is no reason to think either of the two above would be any different.

I have used the IMSRV model for over 5 years without fail and it is VERY accurate.

I ordered 2 of the wildhorse ones. I am going to dedicate one to tool setting and one to probing. I figure these are worth a shot since I can get two for less than one of the others that may not be any better....
