OK, I just finish seting up my CNC router only ting im having trouble is MOTOR TUNNING. I have the TB6560 driver with 3 200oz 1.8 degree stepper motors and /8" 12" (turn per inch) acme ,single start carbon steel +/- .009 in./ft.max lead screw. I'm trying to configure the motor tuning page in Mach3. I been searching and reading in the forum on how to tune the motor but could not find how to calculate the step per.etc... not sure how to obtain or calculate it. Any help will be great. wen i tell the machine to move 10" inch it moves 10 cm ?
im using mach3.

Hi,
Not sure exactly what the pitch (turns per inch) is for your leadscrews but Al Lenz made a nice calculator which you can download from here http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,16315.msg110286.html#msg110286

-
I never use the home position but I understand that it homes the Z axis first, have you checked your home switches are working correctly ?

I dont have home switchs wen the machine finish cutting it returns to the home position and then the z axis stars moving slow
-
Under 'Config' check your homing limits.
Is your GCode finishing with a G28 ?

-
mmmm? i think not, here is the g code
-
I have run the code and nothing wrong there - all my axis return to their start positions.

do you think it may be my set up?
-
Could be.
Look to see if 'Safe Z' under the config tab is enabled.

sorry is not z axis :-[ is Y axis
-
OK, assuming you are getting to the last line of your GCode (M30) when it is run then my opinion is that the problem is within your controller rather than Mach or your setup. The M30 should terminate any pulses from Mach so what could be driving your Y axis ?
