Will the post proccessor used in MAch2 work in Mach3? If not Why? We are waiting for the newer one to upgrade to Mach3.

It should work but just out of interest what CAM are you using, maybe someone here has a post processor.

We are using post from Nextwaveautomation the machine is a CNC SHARK mfg by them

Are you meaning the xml file? The post processor is used to tell a CAM package what G and M codes Etc that your controller can use.
If you are indeed meaning the XML then No Mach2 one cant be used for Mach3. You can however install Mach3 on the same computer as Mach2, then you can open Mach2 and note all of the settings for things like ports and pins, motor tuning etc. You can then close Mach2 and open Mach3 and insert these into Mach3. Mach3 layout is different but you should be able to follow reasonably well, if you dont get Mach3 working properly at first its no problem as you can then revert to Mach2, the only thing you CANT do is open Mach2 and 3 at the same time on the same computer.

We are using BobCad/BobCam, BobCam does not have a post processor for this machine. We can try the transfer of the post/p to Mach3 and see if it works. The post/p is an XML file.

It sounds like there is some confusion of terms here.
the .XML file in Mach 3 is the configuration of the machine controller.
the post processor is the translator from the cam pkg
(BobCad) to the machine controller (Mach 3)
BobCad has a post processor for Mach 3 if that is the control software you are running your "CNC SHARK" with.

U-r right I had the description wrong. So if We use the post processor from Mach3 and transfer the setup for the machine, we shpuld be able to run MAch3? correct...TNX

if you can get Mach 3 configured with the same ports and pins setup as the Mach 2 that your using you should be able to use the G code produced by using the Mach 3 post processor with bobcad.
Art or Hood may be able to help with the ports and pins from Mach 2 - I am not familiar with how they are set up in Mach 2.
I think Hood gave a good way to do it in an earlier entry.

keep in mind the post processor is FOR Mach 3 not FROM Mach 3.
the post processor is FROM BobCad to write the gcode in the form that Mach 2/3 will understand.
