Title: Slaving a 4th axis.

I am missing somthing on setting up a slaved axis. I want to slave what my driver board calls axis C. I have tried to set it up identical to X axis ports and pins and check it as C slaved to X. This does not seem to work. I tried setting it up as A after reading other members allways refer to it as this. This did not work either. I restarted program after both of these tries. I know the axis has power to it because it locks up as it should when Mach reset is clicked. Thanks for any help.

I will need a little instruction on how to do that. I have Mach installed on a computer that is not on line. I do have a usb to transfer. I looked and found many xml type files. Is it a specific Mach xml that you would need to see ? Sorry I am not to savy in this area. Thanks.

It is the xml with the name of the profile you are using, you can see what profile by starting Mach and looking lower right on the main page.
Look in the main Mach3 folder for it, not in the xmlbackups folder, then copy it to your desktop, rename to ScottPancheau.xml then use the additional options button on the reply page to attach.

You have the X A and C all sharing the same pins, they should all be different.

I will expand a bit, the Port and Pin numbers for your A axis should be whatever the port and pin you actually have the drive for that motor connected to. When you slave two Axis Mach will send out identical pulses and direction signal on both of these sets of pins.

Thank you Hood. I suspected this might be the case. I have yet to get any documentation from the vendor of the driver card. Is there a way to figure out wich ports and pins I need to asign as the outputs, or do I need to get this from the card mfg. ? Thanks

You really need the docs if there are no indications on the board itself.

What make/model is it?

Hood, Thanks again for your help. I am old and slow to learn but have made some progress thanks to your help. I did get ahold of the vendor and got the correct settings to assign, and it now works as it should.

Go into config and look for axis slave choose which one you want to slave then go into settings tab and look for slave follow master and check that box, then I would resatrt and that should do it
