The Bosch Cold VS router I bought for my CNC has this sleeve on its power cord (see attached pic) and I dont know what its for. I can move this sleeve anywhere on the cord but its bulky and interferes with my cable management scope. Anyone knows what its for?
On it its written: Emtag, Dont Remove, B&G H.K. EM300
Thanks

Looks like a ferrite, they clamp over the cables and help suppress noise, you often see similar on computer cables such as monitor cables but they re normally moulded in place. You could try without it if its the clip on type but if you start having noise issues it would be best to put it back.

So I guess I should leave it on and try to manage with it because I dont want to deal with more noise problem
Thanks

Nicolas - you really must start paying for things - not just wandering off out of the store with them ;D

LOL.....so that is just an anti-theft gadget? Can I take it off ?
-
Only once you have paid for it ;D

Haha... ok so I took it off and saw the little anti theft tag inside, very smart.....
Now I can do a much better job with the cord without this bulky thing
Thanks

Just so everyone is clear here, these "tags" are already installed on the cables inside the box when bought. ;)
Not like they're removed when purchased like a piece of clothing on a rack-

Yeh yeh Dave I believe you ;D

Dave,
These have not started appearing, in any quantity, here in the UK yet but I expect they will come.
Are these RFID tags de-activated at the checkout without the box being opened ?

I can only assume they are, as I didn't set any alarms off when walking out of the store ;)

Just so everyone is clear here (Dave ::)), I was in no way insinuating, implying, suggesting or otherwise that Nicolas had in any way or form either intentionally or unintentionally, either with or without malice aforethought - half inched the old router thingy - IT WAS A JOKE!

Uh, yeah, I got it, Ian....... ::) I was in no way aiming anything towards you, just trying to clear the air for those who thought otherwise.
I think you may have taken my post as hostile, and you couldn't have been more wrong, and you obviously do not know me very well ;D

Actually Dave my last post was meant to be a little toung in cheek poke at you, that's all.
But I think I'm going to give up on the humour - I'm obviously not very good at it. ;D <--- nice smiley person.

Nicolas,
Please accept my sincere apologies for making fun of your situation.
I had no idea that these tags were not removed at checkout and I do fully understand that they could easily be confused as ferrite's or something important, especially as they clearly say 'Do Not Remove'.
Humble Pie and all that...

Is it me? - I am now completely lost. Is someone going around performing sense of humour bypasses for free or something? or are we being double negetive funny or has this thread just gone completely freekin mad?
I'm off for a lie down in a darkened room...
