Title: Problem with index signal
Post by: Wave on January 04, 2011, 09:57:20 AM
Good day.
I cannot manage the problem: MACH3 do not show the real speed of rotation of spindle.

Index signal enters program.

On the disk there are 4 cuts, one is more 2 times.

How it is possible to force MACH3 to reflect real speed?

Mach uses a single index slot and not multiple. There is no real advantage and was changed some time ago.
Change your configuration accordingly from timing to index.

If I have correctly understood:

Now available 4 cracks on a disk need to be closed, and to leave only one.

How to calculate length of a crack, (speed of rotation of a spindle to 3500, and diameter of a disk 140мм).

You speak on руски?

I can talk to you on Skype?

Yes, just one crack on disc. Calculations for how wide it should be can be found in the Mach Mill Manual.
You can make it wider than what you calculated if the higher rpms do not show in the rpm DRO.

руски  ??? don't know what that is ....like skype?

If all else fails we can use Skype.

Ok.

Thanks, RICH.
I try to do, that you are recomended.

Later I will inform you that has turned out

If you won't complicate, write the program for threating carvings at diameter 10мм, length 20мм, a step 1.5мм, number of passes of 10 pieces.

  ???

Want a tap file for threading so you can try out the index? You can just use the simple threading wizard to do that.
Even better just read section 3.5 in the Threading on the Lathe write up to test the index if it's working. Should see the index light in diagnostics
go on and off.

Greetings, Rich.

Prompt please, in what a difference between масн2 and масн3.

And than versions differ

Mach3 R3.042.040; MACH3 3.042.020; MACH3 R2.63

I use MACH3 R2.63

Thanks

Here is a link to the change log.

http://www.machsupport.com/downloads/Changelist90.txt

Recommend you  update to the latest version as index use has changed over time.  I know nothing about Mach2 / never used it.

Greetings, RICH.

I have made everything that you have told.

Has updated масн3 to last version. Has made a disk with one crack (diam 140mm, length 9мм)
Now the following has turned out:
When I twist a spindle a hand, approximately 2 turns in second, an index signal blink and speed of 90-110 turns in a minute is shown. Truly.
When I include a spindle on low speed, approximately 2-3 turns in a second, the index bulb blinks non-uniformly, speed of 200-2000 turns is displayed minute....

In what there can be a problem?

Thanks.

Good afternoon, РИЧ.

Today has anew established МАСН3, last release.
Has adjusted.
Here that at me it has turned out.
When the spindle turns on the minimum frequency, the indicator shows 221-222 turns in a minute. Truly. (S200)
I increase speed S300 - the indicator shows 240.
Increasing speed to a maximum (S1100) the indicator shows 340-341 turn in a minute.
Real frequency of rotation about 3000 turns in a minute.

Why the such can be???

The indicator a signal index in the controler blinks truly (at frequency about 800 turns in a minute, the eye can't distinguish a blinking.

The second question.
How to carry out cutting of an end face with constant speed of cutting (I.e. when the cutter reaches the center of rotation of a detail (Х=0,0000) speed of rotation was maximum)?

Thanks for the help!

Good afternoon.

XML file I will throw off a bit later.

Prompt as the program for cutting with constant speed looks.
It is necessary for me to cut an end face.

For example.
Diameter external - 50мм. Spindle turns - 500 turns in a minute.
To the center of a detail spindle turns should increase smoothly to 3000 turns in a minute.

I немогу to find as it is written....

Thanks.

Good afternoon, РИЧ.

A few having worked for me it has turned out to make that масн3 displayed real speed of a spindle (I have added signal Timing).
Remains not clearly why set speed doesn't correspond displayed on the screen.
For example:
I set S200 = 400
S500 = 600
S1000 = 1045

Values has written not precisely, but they precisely don't coincide.
I did calibration of a spindle.

I don't know as to attach XML a file
