Title: Mach help.......
Post by: wwwmthboardscom on December 29, 2010, 02:49:22 PM
Hello everyone, happy new year!!!!  I just bought mach 3 because I needed more than 250 line of g code.
It says it is licenced now but when I do a test run it always stops at 250 lines of code sill.
when I load the g code in mach 3 it shows everything that will be cut up to 250 lines which is still only 1/3 of the project.
Im using the free lazycam g code maker, everything looks good when I save it.
Im guessing I didnt load the licence right, but it says its licenced.  :P :P :P
Any help would be great
Thanks

Should be fine and the limit is 500 lines (in Mill) so sounds more to me like your code is only 250 lines. Maybe there is a limit to LazyCAM?

That sounds like that might be whats wrong, I will try a different program, Do you know of any inexpensive code makers?
I'm just making very simple single line cuts with 14 circles in the center.
Thanks

There are a few, first is the newfangled solutions addons, which basically is a load of wizards that you can go through and then once done the code will be posted for all of the steps you have done.

There is LazyCAM Pro, which I have no experience with.

I have just bought Dolphin CADCAM Turn module as its on special offer at the moment (£195 for hobby)

Then SheetCAM is another I have heard people mention.

First thing however is make sure that LazyCAM standard is indeed just limited to 250 lines because I dont use it so was only guessing that is your problem.

Just looked at the downloads page and there is no mention of line restrictions in LazyCAM standard.
Can you attach  the code and I will see what it looks like.
Also might be worth running it through LazyCAM again just in case there is a limitation when using a Demo version of Mach and now you are licenced it may work this time.

I just ran a part through free mill and it ran through the whole part, was something like 700 lines, so mach 3 is fine, Its something with the dxf files im making in autocad inventor I think.
I can use free mill to cut them out, but the way it cuts would take forever. I need some type of cut that follows the line
Thanks

Tried to look at the dxf but it came out incomplete in the CAD I am using. Might be worth trying to save as a different version of dxf.

If Mach is in Demo mode, and LazyCam is in Basic mode, it will only generate 50 lines of code.

But you say you are licensed... when you click on the about mach 3 under Help tab at the top what does it say in the licensed to bar?

You're best bet will be to contact the mach support(support@machsupport.com) and tell us you have a licensing issue and we will get you squared away :) (Include the answer to the above question in you're email please)

I opened your DXF file in CAD. The attached picture shows what i am seeing in CAD and it imports into LC.
I don't know what your trying to do in LC but don't hack the program and read the manual.
Pay attention to how you draw something and export out as a version 12 dxf. ( others work but 12 is best)
