Title: Hi All! Newbi here , need help!
Post by: fiamma on December 21, 2010, 02:16:06 PM
Merry Christmas !

Please bear with me as I know Zero of CNC .

I just purchased a 4x4 table and Gantry from Precision Plasma, ( Great product )
I also purchased The  Bladerunner Control and Larger Motors from Candcnc. I Think my issue is one of the million things I may be doing wrong with setup.

I have a Plasma cutter,
4 Motors

Y - 2 motors
Z
X

Here is my problem, When I have everything connected my Y ( and please correct me if I have anything backwards ) only one motor moves, So one plug is in Y the other is in the A ( being I have on the box A,Z,Y,X )

I don't know what I need to set so they move together.
My X ( which is left , Right ? ) when plugged in and I jog it only moves right even when i press left, However, If I unplug it and put it in the Y it moves left right.

My Z ( Up Down ? ) does not move at all.

I have a cad Guy, so hopefully I wont be asking too many questions, But I need to set up the machine.
Any Help would be Appreciated
Thanks
Rob

Sounds like you have not slaved the axis for your Y/A problem, you need to do that from Config menu then SLaved Axis.

For your X axis it sounds like you may have the wrong pin assigned for the Direction and for the Z it sounds like you have at least the Step assigned incorrectly.

Thanks for the reply hood, is Y front back and X left right? I think I did try to slave the A to Y axis, without luck, I must have something wrong. Anyway to check it?
Thanks again Merry Christmas !!!

Rob,
if you attach the xml for the profile you are using I can check the settings you have. Obviously I wont know if you have the wires connected to what you have set up but I amy find some issues in the config.

You will find the xml in the main Mach3 folder, its a file with the name of your profile and has an xml extension. You can use the additional options on the reply page to attach it but you may have to copy it to your desktop first and rename it due to the forum only accepting a file name once.

Hi Rob, just downloaded and looked at your xml. The issue you are having with the slaved axis is you have it set in Mach to same pis as the Y, you will need it set to the pins you actually have it connected to. It may be pins 8 and 9 but the only way to know for sure is you to look at the drive and see where its connected.
