Title: help to set A axiz for tangencial cut
Post by: Sacramento on December 10, 2010, 01:41:43 PM
Hi

Can anyone help me to set the A axis for tangential cut? What I did was activate the A axis on the motor outputs and under general configuration checked A-axis is angular. Then under settings when I activate tangential control I get the square next to it yellow and blinking. The motor does not make any movement.

What am I doing wrong? Please help

Thanks
Sacramento

Please post your .XML for the machine profile you are using.
Might be a clue there.

Enclosed the XLM file for the machine. It was the one made by default when Mach 3 was installed, with some corrections for motor pins.
will appreciate your help.
Thanks

Your xml seems to run OK here, just changed your A tuning to speed it up a bit.
Are your axis dro's moving as they should ? just not the motor ?
If so, double check your wiring. The configuration looks OK.
Also, Tangential was a bit buggy. Not sure if it was fixed completely.
Do a search or two, some good pointers there.
The Radius Correct led was lit too. No need for a correction for tangential, that's for rotary axis work.
If you don't succeed, post back.
Regards

Thank you very much for your help. Problem is solved now and working perfectly. One of the problems was related with the low speed of A axis. It seems this axis must work at quite high speed.
