Hi All,
Im having problems with this issue, I have read about jogging to work piece and then zero axis but for me it never works.
Im using 6mm cutter and always it starts the cutting offset 3mm in either direction, tried to tell mach im using 6mm cutter but no luck.
any advise on what im doing wrong would be welcomed.

Hi Rick,
Telling Mach the tool diameter won't help. It is only used for G41/G42 cutter compensation.
You need to define the tool centreline regarding the work piece. If you touch off the work piece and zero the axis, the centreline would be away from the work piece edge by the tool radius. So instead of zeroing it enter in the DRO the cutter radius. Account for the side you're approaching the work piece from to decide if the offset is positive or negative.
