Hi,
I had a friend come over and wire up an Enco (Wild horse innovations) probe. All worked and there was no problem. I down loaded a blue screen set that already had probing built in. I installed the screen on my workshop PC and put the probe in a chuck - Started the probe and when it got to the edge it did not trigger anything...I took the probe out and checked it over. Visually everything seemed fine except now its not triggering anything. Got a friend over with a multi meter and discovered that there was nothing coming out of hte port I had chosen to use. So we move ports - this did not work either!
Is there some hidden switch or setting I have to tick to make the probe work under a different screen?
Any other ideas? ???
....Help! :-\

Install the original screen again to make sure it is still wrking. If not then sounds like you have maybe changed a setting in your config.

Is the original screen 1024? I was only using the default mach 3 screen...eeeek!

You do not seem to have the probe enabled or any port and pin assigned for it.

I see what you mean, I will check tommorrow. This does not seem right we spent around 3 hours changing ports over etc... Will update you tomorrow when I get an greater understanding.

All you should need to do is go into Ports and Pins, Inputs and enable probe and set the correct port and pin number for it and it should then be seen as a probe by Mach.

Ok, I think somthnig is up and its not electronic. I have changed all the settings in the ports and pins to use either probe or input 4. Neith work. I examined the XML file that is stored in the C:\mach3 folder and I cant see any of the changes i have made. Its like its not seeing the xml.
Am i looking in the right place?

You need to look in the xml named after the profile you are using, so if you have a standard mill profile it will be called Maxch3Mill.xml If you have made a custom profile then the xml will have that name.

Yeh i have done that...mine is called fuente master mill. It just does not get any of the changes.

So when you close Mach and then Restart the settings have not taken?
Check by right clicking on the xml and choosing properties, that it is not set reaqd only.
