Being a total neophyte when it comes to anything electrical/electronic I may be asking a very simple question.
I have an air line for my NSK spindle and a drip coolant line that both have small manual valves for shut offs. I would really like to use in line electrical valves so I can use Mach3 to turn them on and off.
What type of device should I be looking at or searching for to accomplish this?
I just need a direction and a some insight/suggestions on what I need to look for.
Thanks in advance.

You are looking for a couple air solenoids.
Sources will depend on where you are located. There are a number of comanies who make/sell them and it also depends on what part of the world you are in.

Thanks, from your suggestion I think I found what I was looking for. Just as a note I am in the Philadelphia area.

Dan,
If you decide to use one of those valves then to switch it (open/close) an SSR, similar to this would be ideal. They are opto isolated and can be driven direct from the BoB (M8/M9 etc) and they switch ac loads with extremely low electrical noise.
Tweakie.
