Post by: Ron Ginger on September 20, 2010, 08:42:04 PM: For the past few years we have been holding a CNC activity at Cabin Fever Expo. This year we have a seminar with a chance to win a CNC mill

The mill is the 3501 (aka KX1) sold by LittleMachineShop.com They are sponsoring this event, along with Brian Barker of the Mach3 software and Cabin Fever Expo.

We will hold a seminar on Friday, January 14 starting at 1:00. The seminar is called "From Packing Crate to Making Parts" We will open a new 3501 mill, install Mach3 on a PC, make all the configuration setting, test the mill for accuracy and backlash. Then we will setup and run a program to make a part. The seminar will be conducted by Ron Ginger and Brian Barker.

At the end of the seminar a drawing will be held and someone in the seminar will win the Mill and PC. The mill will be on display, making parts for the rest of the weekend show in the Mach3 booth.

The seminar will cost $50, which includes your admission to the entire weekend at Cabin Fever as well as the seminar. We are strictly limiting this to 70 people, so your chance to win over $4000 worth of equipment is good.

following the link I see that the ticket for this event has been discontinued. Can i assume that it is sold out?

There will be a couple CNC seminars on Saturday, and Brian will be in the Mach booth both days.

Can't miss him as he impersonates Hood sometimes but the give away is the hat with one horn. ;D

I dunno RICH, all 70 seats are sold. Did you buy 69 of em' ? ha ha Guess you'll win the mill for sure then.
See ya there ! I'm going to watch you closely and try to stay one step ahead of ya lol.
I have a list for you to keep an eye peeled for, will do the same for you.
Good idea for anyone there who is looking for anything in particular. Pass out a little list so all can keep an active search going. Helps to find stuff that's easily overlooked.

Post by: Ron Ginger on January 13, 2011, 09:28:02 PM: I got to York today at 5:00. The KX1 mill is here, still in its crate and the crate looks fine- last year Little machine shop sent a demo and it arrived with a clear fork-lift size hole speared through the crate.

Lots of nice models in the auction, and a ton of great clock/watch tools.

I will be in the seminar room starting about 8:30 to setup and uncrate the machine. Brian and Andrew are doing teh all night drive thing, but plan to be in the seminar room by 9:00. Setup help, or just kibitzers are welcome.

The seminar will start at 1:00

It should be a fun weekend!
