Initial testing with the G84 Tap Cycle and Mach3: Using a floating tap holder from MariTool we were able to Tap ¼ 20 threads with almost no tuning to our system.

We disabled the dwell feature on the spindle start and stop and tested with foam core first, then plastic and finally the ½ plate of 6061

Nice, good to see things are working well :)
I have  never done any tapping yet but just today a tapping head arrived from eBay so I will have to give it a go sometime.

Looks like you found the build link...  Here it is for others that be looking

I can't tell you enough how happy I am with Mach3.  It does have a couple issues when we do things we should be doing...  But overall, it is a very nice tool with the flexibility to allow us to customize just about anything we need.  THANK YOU !
