I was testing out my new CNC machine the other day and I noticed that the spindle was going in the CCW direction even though in the program it was set at M03.. When I put M04 in the program it ran CW..
It is obviously backwards in the settings.. How do I go about changing this? I am a newbe and any help is appreciated..
Thanks in advance

What type of spindle do you have?
-
As has been said depends what kind of spindle you have and how it is set up. If you use the relays then it is a simple matter of swapping them. If it is Step/Dir then changing the active state of the Dir may be the way.
The more info you can provide on your setup the more likely a resolution can be found.

I do not know yet, but i will find out and let you know..

I believe it is a relay.. I went to "config" "ports and pins" and "spindle setup"
There, I saw under "relay control" that the disable spindle relay check mark way active..
I don't know if this means anything or not.
How would i go about swapping them, or changing the Step/Direction.. Do you think it's a matter of trial and error?
-
Ok If in the relay part it has different Output numbers for CW and CCW then just swap them around.

Thank you I will try that.. Should I un-check the "disable spindle relay" ?
-
Oh sorry it was checked, I misunderstood. Ok then I think you must have a Step/Dir type spindle control, so forget the relays and try changing the Active state of the spindles Dir pin.

Pardon the ignorance, but were in Mach3 is this located please?
-
Config menu then Ports and Pins then Motor Setup.
If you dont have the spindle options there then attach your xml file and we will be able to see how things are configured and advise more hopefully.

Thank you Hood, it worked like a charm.. It is now going CW with M03 and CCW with M04.. Amazing how one little button can do the trick..
Thanks again
