Per request, here are some shots of lithos I have made recently. Still working on how to best photograph them properly and constantly...
-
some more...
On the last one, the piece came up (I 3M77 them to a board), so it did not finish... after that one is when I started having the problems that I am
trying to resolve now so I can get back to making more lithos...
-
Those look fantastic. Thanks for sharing them with us!

Brilliant work Arbo,
You have just got to get that machine fixed I want to see some more. ;D

What material do you use for engraving.
Where do you buy it.
Very nice work, thanks for sharing.

I am using 1/4" thick, white Corian. There is a guy on ebay that sells different sizes.

8x10 cut with 1/15 ball nose.

Shot of some sunflowers I took the other day.

These are just excellent - thank you for sharing them with us.

I am back at using my machine. Taking a bit of a different approach to the lithos, working on fine resolution in smaller images. This one is 2.5" by about 3.3" ... and I love the detail, wisps of hair, facial details I couldn't get using a 1/16 BN...

High res. Lithos :) Good job!

You are not wrong there Zig, beautiful work indeed, my congratulations Arbo.
For others that follow…
The free software ‘Mach1filter.exe’ (available somewhere here – if not then contact me) makes a pretty good job with creating the toolpath for rotary (spindle) machining of Lithophanes. (As with most image work the original image has to contain good contrast etc. and some practice will be necessary to achieve the best results).
Also the free software ‘Mach3 Impact / Laser Engraving plugin’ will enable Lithophanes to be laser cut. http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,12444.msg164439.html#msg164439
