Title: blue screen of death

Here we go again. What causes the blue screen of death when you load Mach 2/3?

I need to sort out my touch screen but i cant get around this. I tried uninstalling the drive serval times and reloading mach also but i just cant figure it out. im sure is something simple.  I'm running win200.

any ideas would be appreciated.

Not at all a Mach guru but Ive been in the PC service biz for EON's.

It should have a filename or error code that its having issues with in the Blue screen.
Write that down and post it here.

I see that you didn't reboot :)

You need to uninstall the driver and reinstall. Be sure that you reboot the computer after you insall

I reboot all the time. but still no luck.

When the blue screen flashes the screen is only up for a few seconds, is there a way to freeze the screen so i can read it.

Its been a while since I used W2K but I think its the same as in XP so heres what to do.
Go to Control panel in windows then system then click on the advanced tab then select the settings button in the start up and recovery part of the page you will then be able to take the check out of the automatically restart option. This should then allow you to see the windows error message.

The screen still flashes off after changing the reboot setting. But it did say the error was saved to a system event log in Control panel/Adminstrative Tools/ Event viewer/ System. So I hope this might be the message. So here ya go.

The computer has rebooted from a bug check. The bug check was.

A dump was saved in C:\WINNT\Minidump\mini\102306-02.dmp

Any ideas would be appreciated.

the previous post was the message i got out of the event log file.

Once i removed symantec pc anywhere the computer no longer shut down and the blue screen stayed up. Here is the current message im working on.

Stop 0x0000001e (0xc000005 , 0xfce4a7bf , 0xc03eee78 , 0xc03eee7l )

Boy, I hate to say this but it might be faster to back up and do a fresh install. I know this sucks but you could spend forever trying to track that down.
At least with a fresh install you will be able to keep looking for the lock up as you re install your apps, then you would know what one is not getting along with mach..

In win xp i can use the msconfig command. but it dont work in win 2000 is their another name win 2000 uses?

Its been a long time since I used W2K but I seem to remember that I either downloaded or copied msconfig from an XP disc and it worked perfectly with W2K.
As I said it was a while ago so take this with a pinch of salt ;)
