Mine hasn't work in over a year.  Tried everything and nothing works.  The webcam works fine outside of Mach but there is some type of conflict that prevents it from working.

I found the same problem and I don't know why some work and some will not. Never seen anything posted for an answer on it.

Try a different USB port if you can, I seem to remember someone saying they couldnt get it to work and then tried a USB2 port and it was fine.

I also wish my video window worked !
I even tried a separate USB2 PCI card and still no-go.
The camera works OK in windows but for some reason does not display in the Mach3 window.

Have you tried Klaus's video plugin?

Might be worth a try.

I had the same problem.  The way I got it to work was to uninstall the drivers that came with the camera, and then it would work in Mach, but then it will not work outside of Mach.

Hi,

are you using the Mach3 supplied plugin, or my PluginCamera? Did neither of them work?

Klaus,
all I've tried is the one that came with the mach3 program download. Is there another? The camera works on it's own.

Hi,

I've made a small plugin called PluginCamera. You can download it from http://www.kd-dietz.de  menu downloads -> Plugin.

Is the camera driver interface a directshow interface?  I'm just wondering because I have a machine vision camera (USB) and its not showing under mach3 but I can generally use it everywhere else in windows.  It would be really nice if some extra work was put into the interface to select and configure cameras.

Hello,

my plugin doesn't use the directshow interface, it connects to the camera supplied driver. When the connect was successful, you than can call the camera settings dialog.

Klaus,
With your plugin-in I get the error" VideoOCX (VIDEO) - Driver can't be connected".  I click ok then another error window comes up and says "Unable to start the camera".
The video window then displays white and I can click on the "Set/Start Camera" and then I can see an option to use WDM campture in the driver selction. After I select the driver and click OK I get prompted for a Video Source  "Select a Video Device Drop down box" and my camera is shown in the list as "UI122xSE-C_4002622592"  I select it and click "APPLY"
or "OK" Then I get another error "VideoOCX (VIDEO) _ Driver Can't be connected.

"The device I am using is a UEYE camera made by IDS in Germany..you might be able to look at the driver interface using some of the code examples they find..any help would be appreciated.  The model of the cam is the UI-122xse-c.

the camera has a whole list of options for the driver interfaces and with Dirextx its using d3d.dll 6.1.7600.16385 and d3dx9.dll  9.26.952.2844

Im not sure if that helps but ill answer any questions as best I can to get it working

Cheers

Hi Adam,

are you using my plugin, or the Mach3 Video Window plugin. Do you select the "WebCam Plugin Version..." in the PlugIn Control menu?

Hi Adam,

both, the plugin and the standalone program  connect the way, if one works, the other works also.
What did you install, the driver -, or the interface software? Did you install the driver before you plugged in the camera?
Most USB drivers want to be installed before the hardware is plugged in.

The camera works in other windows applications but not in any of the mach3. What are you using fro your interface then if not directshow?

Hi,

my programs use AVICap which supports streaming video capture in real-time and the MCI (Media Control Interface).

it seems to me that to make the camera window compatible  with many more cameras then using the Directshow would be a much better choice for mach3..would seem to be the simple choice at least.

In a German forum, someone had problems was an older processor (800MHz). When he turned on the camera the system got very slow.
To help him find the reason for that, I've wrote that plugin. Since then the plugin was growing and growing. The camera you are using is obviously an industrial type.
If you find a solution or a way I can help you (without adding DirectX) please let me know.

My information page lists the following drivers that my camera can use
ActiveX driver
DirectShow Driver
Twain Driver
And Im running wondows 7 32 bit.

What language are you programming this in? And on windows or Linux?

I'm programming in C++ without MFC on a windows platform.

Ok you dont need the whole of directx to use directshow, its included in the windows sdk,  There is a sample called amcap under samples/multimedia/directshow/capture which works with my camera.  It should be able to work without MFC?

Hi Adam,

the programs are downloaded a few hundred times and obviously running well. I don't think I will implement directshow,
which would would need a complete redo of the camera - part, sorry.
