Title: spindle does not rotate
Post by: kris10x on April 27, 2010, 06:33:01 AM
    Hello,
I have a problem with the spindle of a machine run by Mach3 software. Version is 3042039. Spindle is managed by the relay contact. In menu "Port & Pins / Output Signals" - Output # 1 is set to Port1/Pin17. I tried all the free pins, but without success - by pushing the button "Spindle CW F5" yellow frame around the button flashes, in the tab "Diagnostics Alt-7" red box "Output1" also flashes, but the spindle does not rotate. The connection of the spindle to its controller is correct,  I can run it manually and it rotates. In the website of ArtSoft/Downloads/Mach3 Changelog saw that it was a problem in a slightly older version of the software "Jan 05/2010 Release 3.042.034 -- Spindle not turning on bug fixed".

Would you help me?

What kind of breakout board do you have? Do you have a relay on the breakout board or is it a separate relay? Have you tested the output from the breakout with a voltmeter?

Can you test pin17 on the PP and see if voltage gets through to it when you turn on the spindle in Mach?
