Title: Doing or done something wrong
Post by: jimthefish on April 08, 2010, 10:17:51 AM
Hi Just finished setting up my Denford Triac, got it running with Mach3. Go a problem which I think is a setting problem. In MDI I ask the maching to move 10mm and it does it in all axis, showing 10mm on the display. Write a program or call up a wizard asking for metric units say to do a 10mm move  and it does not move 10mm it moves a very small amount which shows on the display as 2.4 something but the machine completes the full program. I have asked for metric in the program before starting, what have i done wrong, is the machine confusing metric and imperial when interpreting the programming? Or have I set one of the setting wrong when linking the machine to Mach 3.

Have a look at Config menu then Select Native Units and see what you have there.

Hi Hood I think I have set something up wrong. I wrote a short program up on my computer in the house, saved it and loaded onto my workshop machine. it was written with a g21 at the start. The machine did it but in imperial, looked at the Native units they are set at metric. I think I must have confused the machine when first linking it up to the computer. It said something about designating the units and not to use it for changing from program to program , I must have pressed the worng button, will redo the setup. Thanks to your efforts over the past couple of weeks got everything going, so not too worried, I konw it all works so its just a matter of tweeking it somewhere. PS Done the spindle with the aid of Roy at DIYCNC again it was a simple wire in the wrong place. That sums me up SIMPLE, good practical engineer, but usless at electronics.  cheers mate

Attach your xml if you still have issues and I will see if I can find the problem.
