Title: Artsoft Mach3 Software OSAI 510i Controller Interface !
Post by: KINETICJOINERY on March 19, 2010, 11:21:53 PM
Dear General Mach3 Forum Members,

I am a new Mach3 Form Member, investigating all available options prior to committing to commencing any retrofit !

I currently have a old 3 Axis CNC Woodworking Machine that is running an OSAI 510i Controller which directly interfaces and controls all of the AC Servo Drives, Router Spindle, Drill Bank, & I/O's etc !

Can the Artsoft Mach3 Software be interfaced directly into this OSAI 510i controller, as a frontend ONLY interface ?

Has any other Mach3 Forum Member be successful, or has had any experience in trying to perform the above requested OSAI 510i Controller interface with Artsoft Mach3 Software as a frontend ONLY interface ?

Can the above request be accomplished with the use of any extra external hardware ?

Anxiously awaiting any General Mach3 Forum Member's responses and suggestions !

With kindest regards.

Kinetic Joinery Pty. Ltd.

You would need additional hardware, and some custom macro's to accomplish that. Not a trivial task. Independant control of the drilling spindles may be difficult as well.

There are two members here currently converting similar large machines. A Biesse and a Busselato.

You may be lucky in that a lot of Yaskawa drives can accept Step/Dir, do you have a model number for the drives?
