Title: please help Mach3 and Lazycam
Post by: gbjets on February 17, 2010, 08:07:49 PM
I just built gantry cnc router and am using mach3 with lazy cam.
I have 2 problems
1 the z axis motor jams at times causing it to lose it's reference to zero. It will also do it with the motor removed from the mill, turning with no load.
2 when using lazycam to make pockets, the program stops randomly. I get the following error
Unrecoverable Error in EndGLdraw1....Notify artsoft

I am new to this so any help is appreciated.

I'm having a similar sounding problem even when I'm doing a manual continuous jog (though I haven't switched motor position to confirm that it isn't the motor), but I don't get any error message it just looses its position.

Anybody with any ideas?

If servos then it could be tuning, if steppers then possibly you have the velocity or accel set too high.

By program are you meaning in Lazycam or in Mach 3 Mill?
Can you post the dxf and tap file?

Thanks, we solved that problem, it was a bad parallel port card.  We still have the lost position problem.

If stepper, drop the velocity and acceleration in half and see how it goes. If ok, gradualy increase until the stepper jams / skips and back off by 30%.

We've tried many settings to no avail, we'll try so more.
Thanks.
