So i have the chance of using a friends artcam prog to design my designs... well the designs are finished and i create tool paths, save them under mach2(inch). Everything is fine and dandy so far. Here is the issue. When I open mach3 and load the gcode, it places the starting Z cords not at 0 but at -0.75. So my starting cut is well below my material thickness. What is really going on here. Is there a setting I'm missing? Either in mach3 or artcam?... Anyone have any hits that could help? Does anyone have the artcam post processor for mach3?
Thanks for your help,

It's not mach 3! I ran into the same problem a while back and it drove me nuts! I finally found out what was going on. In artcam, at each of the toolpath options panel, there is a setting to offset the origin for the toolpath. Make sure they say zero for the x,y & z. I don't have artcam in front of me right now to tell you exactly what the section is called but its where you specify your safe z height.
Good luck!
