Title: RC2.0c rewriting XML file
Post by: chuckels on September 26, 2006, 03:14:06 AM
I just installed MACH 3 V RC2.0c and it over wrote my old mill XML  file. :(
is there some reason this needs to happen? I had my old XML backed up can I use it with the new ver or do I have to re do all the settings?

It should not have done that :(

You should be able to use your old one :)

Brian,
not really a problem but thought you might want to know.
since your not busy anyway. LOL
2.0d did the same thing. a message box pops up saying "custom setup mach3mill.xml copied to folder" but it is the default xml not the custom one created from the previous install.

jerinat, what is your post supposed to mean???
the problem is that the Mach3Mill.xml is the default that mach writes when you install, not the old one that was customized before updating.

The best thing you can do is to set up your own profile... that will make it so you never get your settings mucked up :)
