Title: machine drags when backlash compensation turned on.
Post by: wawatobi on February 07, 2010, 04:51:40 PM
I just installed a new version of mach3 mill and my mill drags every time it reverses direction. I tried imputing different percentages of full speed but
didn't see much difference. Anyone have a solution for this.
Thanks

I think it has to do with the shuttle accel, but I don't know where you need to set it. This might help.

Good post Gerry....

I use 50% and a shuttle of .005 and the backlash is rather hard, by that i mean almost instantaneous.

I suggest one play with the settings starting with 50% ( i don't like 100%, but that's my nickle on it ) and say shuttle of .5, then .05, then .005 to see the differences. Then up the % to say 75%, and again to 100% with the the different shuttles.
BTW, you may want to see the same affects when using exact stop and constant velocity. been a while since i played with the compensation.

Here are two threads that you may want to take a look at for info that was posted before.
