Title: Feed & Speed Over Ride
Post by: M250cnc on January 27, 2010, 09:30:21 AM
Are there any how to's to set these up.

The manual is very clear how to add a switch, i would like step by step info on how to get the pots working.

Again very easy to connect the pot but then what ?

Have a look at this link, this how Hood made his pokeys pendant.

You can also use seting PoPendant in Mach plugin. There are both overides already implemented.

Well it worked easier than i thought. But the speed was varying i ran the pokeys setup looked at the voltage on the Analogue inputs and could see the variance.

Then when i restarted they have now stopped working in Mach and no matter what i fiddle with i can't get them working again. But they are still working in the pokeys setup program.

What's gone wrong. ???

Phil,
I too use the brains that hood wrote fro spindle/feed override and at first they were a little "flaky" as you put it.
It turns out that I had to rename them in order for them to work properly. Go into your mach folder, double click the brains folder, locate the brain in question and
right click on it and select "rename". Choose a new name...(remember not to use any spaces in the new name) and try it again.
Worked for me....hope it does for you too.

Marc i did get Hoods brain working but it was "over complicated, unlike mine"  ;D ;D ;D

Anyway i found a simpler brain that is more of a match to mine here http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,9163.10.html

It works great there is only a slight variation which i should be able to sort out with some capacitors

Not sure if you are using that on the lathe, if you are then check it doesnt affect threading, if that Brian has no reset to 100% it will vary about the 100% and may alter the threading.

Hood, thanks for the heads up, but haven't got round to using it on the lathe yet.

I suppose i could just disable my brain if i wanted to use threading, which i understand is now only version 033 because of some other problem.

Not sure about that, think if threading was working for you before then it should work with any version, the updates in threading were for certain computers. Also it will only affect the PP (not sure if you are?), if you are using the SS then none of the changes in threading will affect it as they were in the driver and the SS doesnt use the driver, only the PP does.

Ah no, I thought you were meaning 033 version of Mach and the threading fixes. You will still need to disable the brain or should I say you may need to, only testing will tell you for sure.
