Do stepper motors need lubrication?

NormB,
The internal bearings have lubrication on them. They are basicaly a sealed unit and should not be taken apart.
So from what i can see i quess not. Never read anything to the contrary.

I thought that might be the case but just had to ask.  Usually if lubrication is needed a port or some entry is provided to lubricate with.  thank you for the response.

FWIW,
I took a few very old steppers apart and the bearing grease was still good. Good question though and you may want to do some internet searches and see what you find.

Bearings on motors are what they call "sealed for life", so once you start hearing noise you know your bearings need replaced.
