Title: Dumb question
Post by: JDolecki on September 19, 2006, 12:52:13 AM
Since im new to CAM I'm not sure how the program converts the Drawing to machine code. My question is what does my drawing have to have on it to convert properly. Just the  part outling or do i need to include the dimensions too. I tried to import a simple drawing but it not coming out right.

Any suggestion would help.

thanks
John

ACAD 14 will work just fine.  Do you draw to scale in Acad?  Do you understand how to check your dimensions in ACAD.  If you do, then Lazycam will convert your drawings to G-Caode in exactly in the same scale (i.e. 1" = 1")  In addition, you call also use a G51 command in your G-Code to Scale the AXIS command by whatever scale factor you wish for example G51 X.5 Y.5 would reduce all X & Y commands by 50%.

Good Luck,
Sid
