Post by: hudmut on December 10, 2009, 04:14:23 PM
Still having lots of problems with switcs so im doing a full rewire on the machine got my self some burgess switcs (about the best and not cheap) but what would be the best way to wire them in NC or NO ?? and help would be nice.  all so sofrt limits if i get this right is if i put the full mover mount of the tabel in + for X&Y and  - for  z it mach should slow the tabel down just before it hits a limits is this right if so if got some thing wrong then as mine dont

Best wired in series and NC, that way if a wire breaks then Mach will know as it will see a limit, if you wire NO and a wire breaks you will only know when you have smashed the end of the travel.

For the  Soft Limits, you need to set a slow zone which will allow Mach time to decelerate before it hits the physical limits.

Thank you hood

Ill do them NC and go from there what is a good safe zone for soft limits i take it they work in the same ways as off sets when i ref the machine

Soft limits work in Machine Co-Ordinates so work offsets have no influence on them. How much of a safe zone will depend on your axis velocity and acceleration so is just trial and error, the faster the acceleration the less it needs to be.
