Title: tap file operates y axis different
Post by: mrdakota on November 27, 2009, 06:33:56 AM
I've built a Hobby CNC machine to get a comfortable start.
After a noise problem with the E-stop and limits was resolved I'v jogged, homed, and I think I've got the work table setup right.
Installed a pen into the router mount and drew the 500 lines of the roadrunner code on an piece of paper over and over many times to play with feed rates and offsets. But when I bring in the g code for the making of vacuum holes and stationing fence guide it looks like the x and y zero refference fence takes the y axis the wrong dierction up hard against the y home switch and hard stop.
Maybe I'm just too tired ::) Thought it would be an easy question.
Thanks guys,

Keith

Welcome to the goofiness of G-Code. You can never just 'bring in' G-code. G-code is always written w.r.t. a logical (local) zero point (0,0,0) which may by quite different than you actual machine (physical) zero point.
