Title: Mach3 Z-axis question
Post by: chrisinestes on November 25, 2009, 01:17:25 PM
I'm brand new with Mach3 and a new control box.

When I set Z to the top of the material, I move X & Y off the edge of the material to an inside spot so I can set the Z-axis easier than if I set it on the corner of the material. After I set the Z height, I re-home the machine to the material home position. When I do that, the X & Y axis move first and the Z picks up off the material last. I want the Z-axis to pick up before X & Y go home so the bit isn't running right on top of the materil.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Chris

Either change your G-code, or go to Config->SafeZ Config, and enable SafeZ.
