Title: how do i get the spindle to run on a taig and gecko 540 controller???

hi every one i have a taig cnc mill and a gecko 540 controller and i have a problem trying to run the  spindle ...i cant get it to turn on  the plug going to the motor is connected to the gecko control er  but i don't know how the to get it to run ...i went to mach 3 videos and watch them but i still cant get it to run is there...   every thing esle work great i  just don't know what i am doing wrong  please help if some one had the same problem

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding your setup. But to turn the spindle on and off via Mach3 through the G540, you need to have the G540 control a relay that turns the power to the spindle on/off

Once you have set it up you should be able to use the M3/M4 and M5 words to control the spindle from GCode.

would the  the gecko already have the relay in it ????

Hi,

Absolutely not. Have a look at the sample setup diagram GeckoDrive manual. It shows you how to control the relay.

so were do i buy  the relay at and how do i install it
