Title: Reversing axis coordinates
Post by: JimDean on September 09, 2009, 10:57:57 AM
I have retrofitted a Bridgeprt mill with Mach3 and Mitsubishi servos. My controller has a manual pulse generator, and I would like the handwheels on the mill to turn the same direction that it does. But when I get the wheel on the Y axis to turn clockwise when the MPG is turned clockwise, it reads as positive movement. I want it to read as negative movement. I can get it to move in the right directions, but then the handwheel is reversed from the MPG. Basicly, I think I want to reverse my axis without reversing my motors. Does that make sense and can anyone help me out?

I think that you can go to your configuration (ports and pins) and reverse the pin assignments for a and b.

I've gone to Encoder/MPG in ports and pins. But all the a and b values in there are zero, so I can't really switch them. What am I missing?

I was assuming that your MPG was wired to a parallel port which would require port and pin assignments. I assumed wrong. It will probably require swappng connections to your controller. But don't go by this assumption. Perhaps someone else will have a definitive answer.
