Title: Fantastic Work
Post by: kolias on September 02, 2009, 06:16:53 PM
The attached picture was posted by a member at the router forums (Title: my CNC work) but asking questions how he did it we got no replies

I just wonder if anyone knows how a piece like that was done

That could very well have been done in Vectric's Aspire program.

But many other 3D programs could do that as well.

I'm new to CNC so forgive me; when I will do a cut on my CNC router with the X,Y,Z axes and without a 3D program, isn't that considered a 3D cut?

Sort-of  ;) but without 3D software, it's more like 2.5 Dimensional cutting.

Here's a great explanation for you:

Wow Jeff, looking at these prices I would not be able to sleep tonight LOL

And when I paid $150.00m for Mach3 I thought it was expensive. I think I choose the wrong hobby to get involved with.

Well I'm jocking, I love my CNC but Artcam although I good software it is not for me but I'm sure there are other software out there that will be good for my needs. First I have to learn to do the basics with Lazycam & Mach and later we will see what other software I will need.

Thanks for the info
Nicolas

Take your time. see where your interests are going and then start looking hard at the higher end software.
All this software can add up to a small fortune quickly, but, you already spent a small fortune on the machines
and you can't have the software for free!
