Title: well out of my depth here
Post by: Paul3112 on August 11, 2009, 09:10:09 AM
Hi all.
I was given some servo driver/amplifiers   http://www.a-m-c.com/download/datasheet/b12a6.pdf and the motors to suit (elcom)  same as these ( my pictures are no ???t that good) http://cgi.ebay.com/ELCOM-PITTMAN-5173N002-R1-BRUSHLESS-DC-SERVO-MOTOR_W0QQitemZ280376773703QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090725?IMSfp=TL090725135004r4357  I also have the 36V 6 A power supply to suit

My questions are;  is it worth while to use these ?  if yes how do I connect them to mach3?

Thanks in advance

Paul

I'd move it to general discussion.

Hi, Paul

The drive boxes your looking are +- 10 volt type and not "step & direction" type that Mach prefers.

There is a discussion hear http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,12233.0.html that you might want to look at.

If you had a system already using these type of drives then the cards there talking about might be OK, But if your starting from scratch it's probably not the way to go.
