Title: help on motor tuning.steps per

Hi guys just finished building my router today,trying to set up mach3 but dont understand how to work out steps per on the motor tuning section,ive got a stepper motor that has 1.8deg on side of it,im using a ball screw with a 5mm pitch and im driving it direct from motor.THANKS FOR ANY HELP

One thing is missing and that is whether your drives are full step, half or microstepping.
I will assume they are microstepping of 10 like geckos but you will have to adjust to suit if they are different, anyway heres how it goes

200 steps for the motor x 10 for the microsteps = 2000steps per motor revolution
No gearing so that means one rev of motor = 5mm travel
So steps per unit (1mm) = 2,000/5 = 400
