It appears that most, if not virtually all, XBOX 360 controllers are wireless. Anyone having any problems due to interference from all the other "emitters" on a typical CNC machine? What kind of range do you see? How about battery life?
Regards,
Ray L.

I tried the wireless and it interfered with the CNC electronics., just like the wireless network, but not as bad.
Since I do like the implimentation, I bought a wired controller.
You may want to confirm that the plug-in works on your conputer before you spend the money on a controller. The plug-in does not work on my newest computers.

RayL,
I use the XBOX 360 wireless. Never had any problems with it creating or recieving interference.
Tried one XBOX playing a game while using the other with the milll and no problem with interference between the two. My pc is on a movable stand so I am usualy within 5 feet of the mill and the reciever. Never took note of battery life and use rechargable batteries, but they seem to last rather long.

I just got my new XBox controller in and cannot get it to work. In Mach on the plugins configuration screen in the bottom left it does not show a controller connected. Neither the wired or wireless is selected then I looked at the manual again. My product id is 0x028F. That on doesn't show supported. Does anyone know who I should ask about this. In the manual is states "The plugin currently supports 3 Microsoft ProductIds (0x028e, 0x0719, and 0x02A1). If
you have a different one, let me know and I'll add it." Who do i let know? Any help will be appreciated.

I don't know about the 0x028F issue, but you do have to have the xbox driver loaded in windows before the plugin can find the controller.
Driver software available at Microsoft site. Make sure you have the xbox controller showing up in your device manager, and that it is working via the control panel.
If all is well with Windows and you get no error when loading the plugin, then you may need to contact the guy who wrote the plugin. His contact info is in another recent xbox controller thread.

I would imagine Lee as he is the creator of the plugin, see here for his details http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1519 you can then send a private message with your request :)

I use wireless and have not yet faced any problem working on these. It helps me for an incredible experience of gaming.

I have both wired and wireless controllers. I like the wireless better for freedom of movement, but the short on time sucks. It seems it has always turned itself off when I want to use it. I have found no way to change the on time. Never had or suspected any interference with the wireless in +4 years of use. Never checked its range.

Hi John - I think you've been suckered into responding to bunnyhudson's reply who for some reason chose to use his second post on the forum to reply to a 5 year old thread (which seems to be quite a popular hobby amongst a lot of noobs these days) . ;D
