Title: Send pulses in breakout board
Post by: ostie01 on May 21, 2009, 05:09:11 PM
Is it possible to send 5v pulses to the input of a C10 breakout board to jog.

Would like to send a clocked frequency to the input and jog..

Thanks for your help.

Jeff

Not really sure exactly what you are meaning but if its what I think then you should be able to send pulses if they are similar to a MPG, ie A and B channels, then just tell Mach it is a MPG.

Hi, what i would like to do is send 5v pulse to the pin of my BOB.

I know how to do all the electronics but not sure if Mach3 can handle this.

The pulses could be at variable frequency to jog faster or slower like changing the feed.

Jeff,
Are you meaning to do something like the XBOX360 which allows pressing of a button to go from a slow velocity
to max  velocity when jogging?

If you could send two pulses 90 degrees out  to two pins then you could set it up as a MPG, just sending one pulse to one pin I dont think would work.

So, Just I would have to do is send pulses to one pin and for the other pin,the signal should be 90 degres out of phase.

I could give it a try.

Thanks, Jeff

Yes that should work as that is all a MPG is.
