I am using Mach3 and am getting irratic measurements. The piece will be off .040 over on one spot and .100 on another. I checked and all code is correct. I am sure I am overlooking something. I had a .125 cutter in the mill and it was .050 over, so I changed cutter diameter to .100 and it only changed .020? I should not have to amend every measurement to get what the print says.
Why would an X number be off .050 and a Y number be off .100????
HELP PLEASE!!

Have you checked to see that you are getting accurate cuts when doing a simple one axis move, sounds like maybe your steps per unit are out of you have some lost motion somewhere.

That was my firsts thoughts too. SO, I checked that first with a 3" gauge block and also checked backlash, both appear to be correct. I am using servo motors and steps are about 12K.
There must be some software trick I am not doing. My thinking is that because when I changed the tool diameter it did not change accordingly, again irratic numbers.

If you cut a simple shape such as a circle or rectangle does it come out on size?
