Post by: spnar on April 07, 2009, 02:55:03 PM
Hi guys

I have one PC a small mill and an engraver.
The mill and engraver have different configuration and motor tune up settings.
Is there a way that i can choose the machine after i load Mach 3 ?

Hi, Spnar

If you right click on your Mach3 "Icon" and change the Target line to as shown in the first pic, Don't forget the Apple & OK, You'll get this Menu at Mach start-up, To chose a Profile Name, 2'nd pic.

Hope this Helps, Chip

You could also make two shortcuts on your desktop if you wished, one for the engraver and the other for the mill.

Hi Hood

Long time no speak

In fact i found out that the profiles are stored in the  .xml files.
I renamed these to lathe machine name to make sure i am loading the correct one.
As to the shortcuts are these to refer to the .xml files?

If there are no shortcuts to Mach on your desktop already then just go to your Mach3 folder and right click on Mach3.exe and choose to send to desktop as shortcut. Then go to the desktop and right click on the shortcut and choose properties then in the target box put the name of your xml that you want to open, you have to be careful you observe the spacing but it will be something like this
C:\Mach3\Mach3.exe /p Mach3Mill
The last Mach3Mill will be replaced with the name of your xml, so if for example your xml was called Engraver.xml you would have the following.
C:\Mach3\Mach3.exe /p Engraver

Once you have done that then just repeat for your next profile by making another shortcut, you can also rename the shortcuts to reflect what they are such as Engraver and Mill.
