Title: Peter, the cedar lion.
Post by: Sam on March 28, 2009, 07:41:22 PM
Here's a lion I am experimenting with. My intentions are to place the lion in the corners of a window trim that my cat always lays in. Will most likely be made in black cherry or hickory. I'm not a big fan of cedar. A pen is placed for size reference. Used a .125 carbide endmill for roughing, and a .0781 (5/64) carbide ballnose with .008 stepover for the finish.

Looking good Sam, very good for Cedar IMO. How about a picture of your cat? I'm alergic to them but still like em.

I think that will look great when it's completed, nice idea.

I'm also allergic to cats as well but I love how cocky and independant they are. Their attitude just screams of "get bent"!  :D

Mine passed on a couple of years ago and I still miss him.......I think he's still here sometimes.......he's a good dude.....

That's a pretty cat Dave! My Grandparents had one that looked just like it. Midnight was his name. He was a great one too.

Here's mine. His name is Fozzi, after Fozzi the bear.

Thanks Brett -  :)

Sam, he's a beauty, if he had a mask, he could pass for a 'coon!  :D

Very nice Sam, good looking cat. Kinda makes me want to take a nap.  ;D Give Fozzie a rub for me. I thought about posting a new topic, "Show us your favorite cat" but scared of what might follow.  ;D

Thanks RC. Hopefully the final product will look a bit better by cutting at a decent feed rate. Will post pics when I get my lazy butt out to the shop and make it.

More idea testing. The pieces don't match up precisely, but it's just a test.
