Hey guys
this is a question not a problem.running mach ver 3.042.020 on the mill. got ver 3.043 in the office. in both ver when i run a program that executes a M5 command in the middle of the code the clock display stops.this does not affect
the program it runs to the end.

There is no default in Mach to stop the program running if the spindle is stopped with an M5 command.

that is not what i am talking about. when mach reads M5 before the end of the program the elapsed time clock stops. i found that if i add another M3 then M5 at the end of the program the clock keeps running.
m3
m5
m30
it is not a problem, just wondering?

I think we would need to ask the programmers what the "trip" is for turning off the clock.I would have thought it would have been an M30 command - but it isn't, because when running programs with several "parts", seperated by M1 holds, the clock seems to time each section seperately.
If you are saying it is the M5 command, that would be it, becasue I have that before each "stop" to change tools etc.

I cannot duplicate that. This clock continues after M5 and etc. The clock halts with an M1 but continues with Cy.Start. Sorry for the misinformation about your system.

FWIW - I've always found the "clock" to be unpredictable. It seems to start, stop and reset on it's own, and will even give different results for identical runs of the same program.
I've just learned to ignore it.

Thanks guys
this is not a complaint,it is just one of those things that you notice as you change with the new versions.the code that i have been using is three years old now.the clock did well ,up to ver 3.038. with 3.042.020 and
3.043 it stops the clock. it does not affect anything the part cuts perfect. I was just bored and thought i would post something.
