Title: Rapid not working
Post by: ErnieD on February 22, 2009, 05:12:08 PM
Hi,

If I type in a line of code like:

                              G01 y-.5 F3.

The move takes several minutes to complete. I am running off line. I know that I am doing or I am not doing something that I should be doing. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get the feed right?

Thanks,

         ErnieD

First off, where are you starting from? if its Y9 then it will take over 3 mins to do that move.
If that is not the problem then what have you got the motor tuning set to?

starting from y.5 with a feed of f3 it should take 20 seconds.
What have you got the velocity set to in motor tuning for the Y?

in your subject , you have rapid not working. g01 is not a rapid move .
a rapid would be g0.

Yes, I know. I meant that the move is slow. Sorry about the rapid statement.
