I have to enter 20,000,000 pulses per inch to get my bed movement to match the on screen display. Which limits my speed to .75 in. per min. Gecko thinks it must be a problem in MACH3. What to do????
Thanks,
Dave

What type of motors? If servos what is the encoder count? Do you have any gearing? What pitch is your ballscrew?
Please also attach the xml for the profile you use, you will need to copy it to a different loacation on your drive and rename it before the forum will accept it, suggest shotrock.xml

Step motors size 34, 1 rev of motor = .1 inch travel. Sorry I don't know what xml is.
Thanks,

If 1 rev of the motor equals 0.1 inch then your steps per unit should be set to 20,000
As for the xml look in your Mach3 folder, if you are using the standard Mill profile look for a file called Mach3Mill.xml Windows may be hiding the file extension from you so it will just look like Mach3Mill, right click on it and choose copy then go to your desktop and paste it there then rename it to shootrock.xml you can then choose the aditional options in the reply page and you can attach it to your post here.

I'm away from my machine right now, so I can't get the files. 20,000 is what I started with, but the motor would not move at all until I incresed to 200,000.

O.K. it's fixed!!!! The active low needs checked for the step pulse in motor outputs. Now I can set the step pulse at 20,000 steps like it should be and the DRO is accurate and it runs 75 in/min.
Thanks,
Dave
