It's not completely clear if the default for Mach3 if modbus communication is ASCII or RTU.  Anyone know?

Hi,

Mach3 only supports RTU. It does not support ASCII.

Cheers,

Peter -

Thanks.... that marks one thing off the list of possible problems.

Do you know what the "Report Slave ID" and the "Read Excp Stat" buttons in the Modbus Serial Control Monitor dialog do?

Thanks,
david

Outside of the built in Modbus test application in Mach3, do you have a recommendation for a application for testing Modbus manually?

Thanks,
david
