Title: Slave Axis in Mach or in driver
Post by: fer_mayrl on January 14, 2009, 11:33:19 AM
Hello Guys,
As some of you may know, automation direct´s servo packages allow the use of the encoder pulses of one servo to be used as inputs to another servo package for slaving.

Would you recommend using mach3 to slave the axes, or the encoder slaving?

Best regards
Fernando

The only down side to using Mach3 is you will be using up more of your sometimes limited outputs, and you will also use up some of the bandwidth.

I would go with the slave directly from driver to driver, if it is pretty straightforward on programming and wiring.

I have not studied how difficult or easy this is...

I think it should not be that hard.

THanks
