I need to make a part that required that I make cuts along the Z axis with a narrow tool like a parting tool. I am not having success with my parting tool or an insert grooving tool (the insert moves). I saw this tool in one of the mach videos:

Any idea what kind of tool it is? A link to a website would be great.
Thanks

Thats just a self grip cut off or grooving tool, I have a couple of Iscar ones identical to that.

This would probably be more suitable for you http://www.jlindustrial.co.uk/HPO-20257B/SEARCH:CATEGORY/product.html
or from Iscar this http://www.iscar.co.uk/ProductLines/ProductLineSubDetail.asp/CountryID/1/ProductLineSubDetailID/1

It's a positive stop grooving tool. Prolly a dozen names for it. Because its a positive stop, you can also face with it. They sure beat the heck out of allot of other parting tools. They do have there downfalls though, diameter of cut being one.

Thanks for the information. My CHNC takes 3/8" tool holders. It looks like they only come in larger sizes. Oh well.
