Title: We are having difficulty setting up the home switch settings.
Post by: kawi400 on October 04, 2008, 11:16:59 PM
We are new at Mach 3 and cannot seem to find the toggle to turn the m1, m2 and m3 home toggles on and off that the tutorial keeps asking us to do.  Is there a hot key?

Do you have home/limit switches fitted?

I am unclear what you are meaning by the toggle to turn the home switches on. Home switches are used to reference your machine by pressing the Ref All button, your Z axis will move first, hit the switch, stop, reverse then stop when the switch again closes and the machine coordinates will be set. Then the Y, then X. You need to have your switches set up in ports and pins and also you may need to define the homing direction in Homing and Limits page.

I had to reload wxp  and have forgotten my config set up and having to retrain myself...
I have set my home sw and limit switches.......
Home and limit are same switch ..
.but when jogging I hit a limit  and stop ,,, I must manually move off the limit

I was thinking I could set some software switch so that when limit was hit machine would reverse off until off of limit switch and then EM stop
or did I dream this up......

where / what box do I check

Auto Limit Override is what you are wanting, should find it on the settings page.

Another thing you may wish to do is set up Soft Limits, that will stop you jogging onto and tripping a limit.
