how do you program the thread wizzard to make square threads

Change the infeed angle to zero and you should be good to go :)

thank you for your quick reply what is the difference in external threads and internal execution wise

External threads will cut into the part fron out outside. So the rapid moves will pull out in the +X Direction and cutdepths will go more negitive the deeper the thread is cut. The internal threads will rapid back in the -X direction and will advance the cut in the +x direction. I think that is what you were asking ... and to get the wizard to cut an internal thread you just have to give a smaller start dia and a larger end dia.

yes this is what i wanted i will try it tomorrow (wife in bed lathe in the basement under the bedroom if you want me to give you a reply from the same adress , ill try it tomorrow)

Great I wrote the threading code a LONG time ago and I think I know how it works now ;)
