Hi all,
Can anyone tell me how to make mach3 jog the z axis while the program is running. I have tried check marking the box "allow THC up/down control even if not in THC mode" found on the mill setting page. But I still can only run the z axis up and down when the program is setting idle? Thank you in advance!

There is a THC active that needs to be active as well. It is on the ports and pins page under the inputs.
To jog the Z in a program you need to use THC up and THC down under the inputs...

Thank you Barker! I did what you said and that fixed the problem. Thanks again! Maybe someday I can return the favor.

I'm also trying to jog the z axis while Mach3 is running. I'm also using the THC from Campbell Designs. I've tried setting hot keys and they act just like the regular jog keys... Help???

Hey Ray,
I have sent you a personal message.

also, do these help?

Brett,
One step forward but still not working as needed...
It turns out you were right about using keys that were already assigned to something else. Once I found a couple of unused keys [ and ] and set them up it appeared to be working... while running a program I could jog the Z axis but then Mach ignored the THC! It wouldn't respond to height correction signals until I disabled the hotkey emulation....
Any other ideas?
Hope you are having a nice holiday weekend,
Ray

The Only way that you can have both is to hook your "override" buttons up in parallel to the inputs for the THC. That should work...
-
Brian,
Yes that sounds like what I need but I'm not sure exactly how to do that... :-\
Do you mean to set up buttons to toggle two of the output lines and physically connect them to the THC up/down input lines? Or, is there another way?
Hope you're having a nice holiday weekend,
Ray

Yes, you will need to connect them to the two phisical THC Up/Dn Lines.
Please contact the maker of your THC unit for help with this :)
Thanks
